As we reflect on the past year, one thing is clear: 2025 was a transformational year for Visit Pasadena. What began as a vision quickly became a community-driven effort to showcase Pasadena, Texas as a destination rooted in culture, creativity, and local pride.

From building a destination brand from the ground up to strengthening partnerships with local businesses and regional organizations, Visit Pasadena made major strides in tourism development, economic impact, and community engagement.

Building the Visit Pasadena Brand

In its first year, Visit Pasadena established a strong foundation by creating a new brand identity, developing and launching an official tourism website, and activating social media channels designed to highlight Pasadena’s people, places, and events.

A major milestone was the official Visit Pasadena Launch Party, where the brand and website were publicly revealed to more than 100 local businesses, partners, and city leaders. The launch marked Pasadena’s entry into a unified destination marketing effort focused on storytelling, visibility, and supporting local businesses.

Community Engagement Through Major Pasadena Events

Visit Pasadena was proud to participate in some of the city’s largest and most iconic events, including the Pasadena Strawberry Festival, 4th Fest, Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo, and Wings Over Houston. These events allowed Visit Pasadena to connect directly with residents and visitors while building brand recognition across the community.

Through a partnership with Wings Over Houston, Visit Pasadena promoted a special discount code that generated more than $16,000 in ticket sales and an estimated $30,000 in hotel revenue for Pasadena. This collaboration highlights the economic impact tourism and strategic partnerships can have on the local economy.

Supporting Local Businesses and Shop Local Initiatives

Supporting local businesses remained a core focus throughout the year. Through a grant provided by the Pasadena Economic Development Corporation, Visit Pasadena partnered with the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce to conduct Business Retention and Expansion visits, allowing the team to meet directly with local business owners, understand their needs, and identify opportunities for support and collaboration.

In addition to BRE visits, Visit Pasadena worked closely with dozens of local business owners to promote Shop Local initiatives, strengthen small business visibility, and encourage residents and visitors to explore Pasadena’s local offerings. These efforts reinforced Visit Pasadena’s role as a champion of supporting local everything while building meaningful relationships across the community.

Cafecito and Network: Building Business Connections

One of the most impactful initiatives launched in 2025 was Cafecito and Network, a recurring event created to bring local businesses together to network, build community, and share resources. Each session welcomed approximately 100 participants, creating meaningful opportunities for collaboration and connection across Pasadena’s business community.

Creative Storytelling and Media Development

Visit Pasadena led the creation of original content that reflects the city’s identity and energy. This included producing and directing the official Visit Pasadena promotional video, as well as developing digital content to support event promotion and destination storytelling.

Visit Pasadena also partnered with Pasadena ISD students, including selecting a student-designed logo and collaborating on photography and video projects that supported student learning while highlighting Pasadena events.

Statewide Recognition and Tourism Designations

In 2025, Pasadena achieved significant recognition at the state level. Visit Pasadena successfully secured two designations from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism:

  • Texas Music Friendly Community
  • Texas Tourism Friendly Community

Additionally, Pasadena was added to the Texas Independence Trail Region, expanding heritage tourism opportunities and increasing statewide visibility for the city.

Looking Ahead to What’s Next for Visit Pasadena

The first year of Visit Pasadena proved what is possible when community, collaboration, and creativity come together. None of this work would have been possible without the support of the Pasadena Economic Development Corporation, local businesses, community partners, educators, creatives, and residents.

As Visit Pasadena looks ahead, the focus remains on supporting local businesses, strengthening partnerships, and continuing to tell Pasadena’s story in a way that reflects the heart of the community.

Here’s to another year of Living La Vida Local and celebrating everything that makes Pasadena, Texas a great place to visit and call home.
